been a while....

Hey all, sorry its been so long since I've posted. Just thought I'd say hi to ya'll. I just got back to Vancouver three weeks ago and am glad to be back. I am enjoying classes: Biblical Exegesis, New Testament Foundations, Christian Thought & Culture, and Soul of Ministry.

Favorite books that I'm reading right now:

New Testament and the People of God. NT Wright. (excellent book!!)
The Aids Crisis. Dortzbach & Long (book from Urbana, written by World Vision directors)
Roots of Western Culture. Dooyeweerd. (a neo-calvinist classic, apparently)
Loving Homosexuals as Jesus Would. Chad Thompson. (refreshing read, was a speaker at Urbana)
Let Your Life Speak. Parker Palmer. (on vocation, calling, etc.... really good)

Well, I've got lots of homework to do right now so I must make this a (very) short posting. But hey, at least I updated! A shout out to all my Midland hommies who read my blog!!

We need to have a chat about your spelling..."hommies" would be pronounced so that "hom" rhymes with "pom" not "home". The correct spelling is "homies" or "homiez" if you're the set designer that painted THE WALL from this past Advent. The fact that I'm correcting the spelling of slang words is, by definition, pathetic. Also, since when do you refer to your mother as one of your "hommies" (which would ironically rhyme with "mommies"). Barb, I know you read this...HI!!!

Hi,
I'm pleaed to see you are reading Dooyeweeerd. He's not an easy read but one worth persevering with. Incidentally, I've recently started a blog/ study guide on Roots.
Cheers,

Steve

Pathetic, June? No, but perhaps ineffectual...if you're trying to integrate accurate spelling into Matthew's posts, anyway. Besides, he's practically Canadian now. They pronounce some words differently. :-)

Matt-I'm a bit envious of you, with the Chad Thompson book. Is it much different than what he spoke about?

Hi Barb!!

Hey! New look. Pretty cool. Today's word verification word is "rovba" which sounds very Russian.
